2001 Golf engine turning on and immediately shutting off ?
My 2001 Golf is turning on (engine starts) and then immediately shuts off. Has anyone had this issue?
Some background/details:
- all the normal lights/meters turn on and then off
- it turns off right when I let go of the key and it shifts back into the ON position (leading a friend to think it may be an ignition switch issue)
- I changed my headlight today and had to disconnect the battery to get to it. I thought this was the issue, but I've double-checked the connections and tried disconnecting & reconnecting the battery with no luck.
-checked engine fuse - seems to be intact
