Brought my 2015 VW Golf Sportwagen TDI (S w/MT) to the dealer (which I only do if absolutely needed!)... to deal with the Airbag light (and also the airbag notice when ignition on)...
Turns out they change the Airbag Module (5Q0-959-655-J-Z00) to the tune of $885.50, and another $285.60 for labor.
While I was certain that this was pretty horrible, I was told the problem is fixed. This was at 68590 miles.
Well... I'll be the seasoned pros here can guess why I'm posting?
Here we are at 68810 miles and ... did you guess? Yup. Light is on again. :(
"Error: Airbag" on the panel, and the yellow light on the tach.
I usually do all my own work and do NOT let other people touch my stuff. I'm terrible with the sugar and honey bullsh!t when it comes to dealing with people... so I'm here asking for help. I haven't spoken to the dealer about this yet... and I'm turning here for more info. How would you handle it? I'm 100% fine with doing it myself at this point since I can't stand the thought of going back and dealing with that crap... on the other hand. they were paid to fix it... and they didn't.
Thank you for reading.
