2019 GLI Power Steering and Gear Oil Leak
Moved my car and found several spots of power steering fluid and what I believe to be gear oil from the transmission in the driveway. The oil spots look like engine oil, but there was a slight odor which makes me think it might be the trans (6MT). I'm taking this to the dealer to diagnose, but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this and if so, what the culprit was. I have not hit anything or done any work to the front of the car so I'm hoping it's just a few hoses that came loose and not something more serious. The car is stock other than an AWE Track exhaust, I have 16,000 miles on it.
Separately, have others experienced a "stickyness" when changing from 1st to second? Its not like a full on gear grind, but it is definitely not as smooth as the rest of the gears. Wondering if i also have a synchro issue or if I'm just being paranoid. I learned to drive manual on this car from new so it isn't out of the realm of possibility for me to have excessive wear on the trans.Mon, 09 Nov 2020 13:06:46 GMT
